Juvenile Justice
Teens in Tough Situations
Mentoring
Our Juvenile Justice Ministry Team reaches out to high-risk teens in tough situations. Young people are met in a variety of youth-serving institutions such as detention centers, probation programs, correctional facilities, group homes, residential treatment centers and emergency shelters. These relationships are sustained through ongoing involvement as they re-enter their communities, and JJM staff and volunteers are committed to connections that last long after the teens have left the Juvenile Justice System.
Juvenile Justice Activities Include:
- Thursday Night Group Discussion. Our staff leads the interested kids in discussions dealing with many different spiritual topics. This is a key time in beginning to develop relationships.
- Sunday Chapel. Teams of dedicated volunteers lead worship, teach from the bible, and pray with kids.
- One-to-One Visits. These times are vital in getting to know these kids and developing healthy relationships through which the love of God can be effectively shared.
