Learning to be like Jesus!
I have been working for the better part of a year now on trying to get my student leaders, (these are kids that help out with clubs) to understand that being like Jesus is the most important thing one can be focused on. Well this last Monday I think we had a real brake through. I was able to see several of the kids really starting to grasp on to what it means to call your self a Christian. They still have a lot to learn, but this is a good start. I praise God for all that he is doing in the lives of young people in Gold Hill. There are not very many things in life that compare with seeing a young person awaken to what it really means to follow Jesus. If you would like to have an opportunity to be apart of what God is doing through YFC Campus Life, please don’t hesitate to give us a call, at 855-1173 or E-Mail us at robert@roguevalleyyfc.org.
Making a difference one at a time.
There is a young man that has recently decided to become part of the student leadership team. These are students that like helping out around the youth center and most importantly want to follow Jesus! Anyway this young man has realized that the only life that really is worth living is one devoted to Jesus. He confided in me that other members of his family are in prison and other things and he does’t want that for his life, instead he wants to please God and learn more about him. Awesome!!!
Good Discussion on Friday.
Last Friday I didn’t have time to prepare my normal talk for club, due to something that came up. So I decided to ask the kids two questions: Why should people get to know you? And would you want to have one really grate friend or a lot of ok friends? These questions prompted a lot of really good discussion; which included theological topics such as God’s omniscient’s and omnipotence. These questions also let to how the best friend one can ever have is Jesus; and that if you are looking for a friend that you can always count on, will never let you down and will love you no matter what you do. Then you need Jesus.
