About Misty Brumble

Misty Brumble began her studies at Rogue Community College and continued with multiple courses in psychology, human development and child/adolescent development at Southern Oregon University (SOU). Misty understands the cause and effect related to the social and environmental conditioning of youth. As a mentor for Rogue Valley Youth For Christ (RVYFC) for the past three years, and volunteer Chaplain for the Jackson County Juvenile Justice system, Misty also has experienced the ramifications of parental neglect, cruelty and substance abuse on youth.

Misty Brumble joined RVYFC as its second volunteer mentor in 2002 while still a student at SOU. She put her education on hold to enter an 18-month internship program at RVYFC. During the training, Misty continued her work with youth in the Juvenile Justice Program, providing one-on-one and group counseling for up to 20 incarcerated young people. In March, 2005, Misty became a staff member of RVYFC and was elevated to the position of Director of the Mentor Program. With a full-time workload and part-time pay, Misty combines her education with experience to care for youth and to recruit, fundraise, train and manage 30 mentors.

We have a continuing need for new mentors due to the steady stream of new kids entering the Juvenile Justice & Child Welfare Systems.  Please contact Matt or Misty for more information.
